VISA & PASSPORT
Visas valid for 30 days can be bought from all ports of entry on arrival except Taba (Israeli-border). Visas are needed to enter mainland Egypt.
Visas are not needed for those who intend to go only as far as St. Catherine’s and Sharm el Sheikh in Sinai.
MONEY
The currency here in Egypt is Egyptian pounds. All major currencies can be exchanged easily in banks and exchange offices, and travelers cheques are also widely accepted. You can also find numerous ATM machines to withdraw cash on all major credit cards. Money can be exchanged on arrival at the airport.
GETTING AROUND
Situated not far from St. Catherine’s monastery and Mount Sinai, and with the tranquility and wilderness of the desert close by, Dahab is an ideal place from which to explore the Sinai region. Excursions can be organized through us, with a little help from the hospitable Bedouin tribes of the area, to explore this historically fascinating and richly diverse region.
